RN Preceptor Requirements

Hosting Students

To host a Nursing student, a practice must be able to provide a minimum of 38 to 40 hours of supervision per week by a Registered Nurse who has held registration for at least 12 months. This supervision requirement can be met collectively by multiple Registered Nurses within the same practice.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia guidelines also require several other mandatory requirement to be met in order to host nursing students that can be found here For RN Preceptors - Gold Coast Primary Health Network

Following completion of this form you will receive an email from our team confirming receipt of your submission. Should you be allocated a student you will receive notification and practice documentation three weeks prior to the block commencing.

If at any time your availability changes please let us know so that we can make these adjustments to the schedule and your availability.

Next Steps: the GCPHN will be in touch prior to 2026 placements commencing to confirm practice bank details via EFTsure. Please ensure you follow the steps to provide or update bank details to ensure payment is made to the correct account.
